Giro d'Italia 2008 - team kit

The first day in the mountains of the Giro d'Italia 2008 saw Gabriele Bosisio claim victory on stage seven aboard his De Rosa King 3. He was to wear the pink jersey of race leader for one day.

We pictured Bosisio's De Rosa prior to stage 16 and the individual mountain time.

On the TV screen the silver of the Italian LPR Brakes team and matching bike does look a little 'tacky', but in real life, and although the shirts and jersey look suspect, the bike glistens in the sunshine.

It simply sparkles drawing your eye and before you know it you begin to realise that Bosisio's bike is very trick.

The Campagnolo Electric gear system is a real crowd puller and seemingly has alterted very little since we saw at the 2007 Tour de France (Apart from new levers) and we can suppose that it could be launched to us mortals late 2008 or in 2009.

The King 3 is a T-700SC carbon fibre monocoque construction and is a new design for 2008, featuring and integral seat post and a more muscular frame at stress points.
