Ridley Bicycles was founded in 1990. Through innovative technical and graphic design, Ridley quickly became the leading manufacturer in Belgium. In the early years, Ridley became known for supporting local grass roots teams and riders in Belgium, including a young Tom Boonen when he won the Belgian U23 championship in 2001.

Its unique Sharp Edge Design tube shaping and oversized head tube proved to be stiff enough for mountain top finishes, yet also just as comfortable on the Belgian pavé. The Noah made its debut at the 2006 Tour de France and was ridden to 5th place overall by Cadel Evans, and first place in the Sprint competition to green jersey winner Robbie McEwen, who also took three stages on his new bike. The incredible frame stiffness in the bottom bracket, integrated seat post, and oversize head tube areas led McEwen to call it “the fastest bike I've ever ridden”.
