Condor Time Trial Bike

Kristian House of Rapha Condor Recycling.co.uk Condor Time Trial bike is made from High Modulus carbon tubes, aero shaped with the same rear end as the road racing team Leggero.

They are hand made in Condor's Italian factory with the carbon tubes being bonded and wrapped for maximum strength.

Condor sell the frameset at £1499.99 and generally buid it up to customers component choice. As you see it, Kristian's one would retail for approx £3,500.

We talked to Kristian House about his bike and he started out by talking about his time trial position.

He told us that his position is quite different than his normal road bike position. The chief difference is in the front end of his machine being "lower and more tidy to improve the aerodynamics.". Its important to be low but also to be comfortable enough to put out the power needed to do a good Time Trial. There is also a little change to the for/aft of his saddle and a slight raise in the height.

Kristian grew up doing Time Trials in Texas where all the stage races have at least one TT in them. In the UK that's not always the case, just like the Girvan or the Ras, in Ireland.

Kristian says, "I enjoy Time Trials, I try to concentrate on the matter at hand and do as well as possible. It's very much a mental event. Riding a TT in a stage race is a bit different than going out and doing a 10 on a weeknight, but the same principals apply."

"You know it's going to hurt especially when you have three or four hard days in your legs, but you concentrate and go as hard and smooth as you can, and remember its the same for everyone ".

"I try to push a big gear, but not too big. The worst thing is getting bogged down on a gear and just going slower."
