Nokere Koerse 2008

Wouter Weylandt won the Nokere Koerse in Belgium on March 19. The Quickstep rider beat Jurgen Roelandts (Silence-Lotto) and Andre Greipel (High Road) in a sprint.

Weylandt siad afterward; “I’m very satisfied with this victory. Today was a difficult race, conditioned by the strong winds and bitter cold. The team was super and they put me in the best position from which to battle it out in the final sprint. I’m very happy because this is my first win of the season, achieved in a race that I particularly love. On Easter Sunday I’ll also be racing in the Campina Ronde Van Groen Hart – Utrech, where I already won last year. This result also gives me confidence for the upcoming Dwars door Vlaanderen to Waregem on March 26th, a very important race in which I really want to do well.”
