Sidi Special Shoes

Italian cycle shoe company have been marking special events and races with special edition Sidi Ergo 2 Carbon shoes. The latest pairs go to Fillipe Pozzato and Paulo Bettini.

Sidi decided to honour Bettini by producing a unique model Ergo 2 Carbon cycling shoe for Paolo that included the rainbow colours to celebrate his Salzburg 2006 and Stuttgart 2007 victories and the gold finishing to honour his Athens 2004 Olympic Medal.

The Milan Sanremo, spring Classic is on March 22, and for this important race Sidi wanted to give Pippo Pozzato, the winner of the Milano-Sanremo 2006, a new pair of personalised shoes to celebrate this great event.

They are his normal Ergo 2 Carbon model but with redesigned graphics in a brand new floral pattern on the topside, a reference to the flowers which has made Sanremo and the Ligurian coast famous all over the world.

“Thanks for the flowers,” said the Team Liquigas rider, He continued; "This new shoe was a very nice welcome surprise. I hope this gift will bring me luck on my Sanremo ride. Winning this race is a particular thrill; in 2006 it was my privilege to be the first across the finish line with my arms in the air, and this year it would be a dream if I could repeat that feat. I feel like I’m in great shape and here at the Tirreno –Adriatico I’m feeling tops. I still haven’t verified which flowers Sidi chose to decorate my Ergo 2 Carbon… but if they’re roses…”
