Some time in 1976, two guys started making bicycles in a red barn in Waterloo, Wisconsin, USA. They called the bike range Trek, after an Afrikaans word meaning long journey. Some thirty years later, that company has travelled its own long journey from the red barn in Waterloo to subsidiaries in eight European countries, China and Japan and to the podium of some of the world's greatest races.
