At speed
Spanish Cycle Manufacturer Orbea began in 1840 and in the modern age they have spent a lot of time in the wind tunnel. They concluded that the human body is not aerodynamic, with 80% of the aerodynamic force produced by the cyclist and 20% by the bicycle, with the frame and wheels being of special importance.

The Orbea's time trial bikes used by the Euskaltel - Euskadi squad don't look as futuristic as some, but it's low compact frame is worked to limit drag with smooth curves and a seat tube that acts as fairing for the rear wheel. The monocoque frame uses what Orbea call their 'ORDU system' that can be found on all their high end bikes, made from T700 carbon with 75% M30S carbon fibre, initially conceived for Formula One racing cars.

The frame is made in two sections with the main triangle and rear stays glued together.

The Euskaltel - Euskadi bikes feature Pro Wheels and a Shimano group, rounded of with a mix of ITM/Own brand finishing kit of bars and stems, with Vittoria and Selle Italia tyres.
