Gerolsteiner Specialized Time Trial

The Gerolsteiner and Quickstep squads ride Specialized bikes and under a Grenoble fly-over we viewed a potpourri of bikes and kit in their respective camps.

Specialized offer an E5 aluminum Columbus and carbon mix time trial bike in their catalogue, named the Transition, but the Pro- Teams had on show a full carbon time trial bike (As above) and a few, which look similar to the E5 Transition.

Specialized frames are monocoque carbon in design and were developed into the Specialized FACT system.

Gerolsteiner bikes feature a Shimano Dura Ace group, wheels are from PRO (But we also noticed unbranded wheels - protoype?), saddles are by Selle Italia, with a Pro finishing kit and Shwalbe tyres.

Quickstep base their bike around a Campagnolo group, with Fulcrum wheels and a FSA finishing kit. The team also use Specialized cranks, saddles and Roval wheels where contracts allow and subject to a degree of rider choice.
