Focus for Milram in 2008

For 2009 Team Milram will be riding Focus, launching the German-based company into the pro peloton. Initially, the team will ride near stock Izalco Team edition bikes, as pictured, although with additional layers of carbon added to the top and down tubes to increase the stiffness to meet the demands of professional riders.

Focus were a bit hasty in painting up Milram liveried bikes so had to resort to some black tape to conceal the Milram logo, until the deal officially commences in 2009.

The Walser time trial frame is the same as used by several riders in the Tour de France, including most notably Stefan Schumacher - though well hidden under the decals of his official sponsor, Specialized. Focus will be trickling down the technology on this frame into a very affordable TT bike to be released next year, making ownership of one of the fastest and most sought after TT frames now attainable to the general public.

Finally, there's big plans at Focus. There's rumours of a new frame which will be released before the 2009 Tour de France, and while little details exist of its actual specifications, what we do know is that it'll borrow much of the development that has already been poured into the company's cyclo-cross bike. Focus will look to borrow the signature head tube and bottom bracket junctions to ensure Focus bikes stand out in the peloton.
