Deutschland Tour 2008 - 7

Deutschland-Tour 2008

The eight stage Deutschland Tour began on Friday, August 29, in Austria and ends on September 6 in Bremen.

Stage 7 Neuss - Georgsmarienhütte (214,3km)

Stéphane Auge (Cofidis) won from a breakaway group that had been away for 180km.

Team Milram riders said thanks to their sponsors by donning cow jersies, but were almost thrown off the race for wearing illegal shirts.

Kness said - "Before the start of the stage, I was in the team bus. We were told that we would not be allowed to start in the cow jerseys, so I changed mine. My team mates didn't get this message, since they were already at the start.“

Christian Knees was the only Milram rider underway with the usual jersey. He rode to the team bus shortly before the start, when the team was informed that they would be taken out of the race because the cow jerseys violated the rules. Knees then quickly changed his jersey. His team mates did not receive the warning and rode the race in the speckled kit.
