Teams set to race in the 2008 Tour of Britain - Stages / Teams

Mauricio Soler is out of the Tour of Britain after problems with his Visa.

"The Tour of Britain would have been the best way for Mauricio to improve his shape in the view of the World' in Varese and looking at the last races of the season," stated team manager Claudio Corti . "Unfortunately the visa is not ready and we cannot do anything more. It's a pity because 8 stages in a row could have proved very useful for Mauricio."

Now Soler's schedule will continue in next weekend, in Italy, with his partecipation at Coppa Placci and Giro della Romagna . South African Daryl Impey will replace Soler at the Tour of Britain, definitely trying to be a valuable part of the team for this very important event.

Team Barloworld now line up with British-duo Stephen Cummings and Geraint Thomas . They are expected to be major protagonists of the race, as Cummings lately won the Coppa Bernocchi in Italy and was impressive in the Olympic's time-trial as well.

Thomas will be more than happy to race on his own roads after the gold medal won in Beijing, in the team-pursuit track event. For the sprints, directeur sportif Alberto Volpi will count on South-African Robert Hunter and Aussie Baden Cooke with Italian Paolo Longo Borghini ready to play his important setup role.
