Barloworld gets Tour place

Could Barlworld's inclusion in the Tour mean a ride for Geraint Thomas

Following the announcement of the teams to take part in the 2007 Tour de France and the three wild card entries, one of which is Team Barloworld, you can imagine the team is understandably happy with this decision.

"Obviously we're very happy with ASO's decision and very thankful that they've recognised the qualities of our team and our professionalism," Team Manager Claudio Corti said.

Head of Corporate Marketing, Chris Fisher, said: "Team Barloworld's success in being invited to compete in the Tour de France is thanks to both a great team effort as well as representation from Claudio Corti, the highly respected Italian Team Manager".

This could mean another Brit, in the shape of Geraint Thomas, possibly getting a place in the Tour. Though the team has yet to announce which riders it will take to the Tour, Thomas's good start to the season should help make his case for a spot on the team.
