Tour of Britain 2008 - Stage 1

The eight stage 2008 Tour of Britain is the UK's premier road race running September 7/14 - all stages

On 7th September London plays host to what should be a sprinters paradise on the flat Victoria Embankment, racing past Big Ben and the Tower of London ten times.

The London Grand Prix supports the main race and is held over the smaller, southern section of the circuit encompassing Victoria Embankment, Whitehall and Northumberland Avenue.

Tour of Britain riders will sign at 1pm and then race from 1.30pm start.

Over the ten laps there are Hot Spot Sprints at the end of laps 3, 5 and 7. Plus strangely enough the E On King of the Mountains competition at Tower Hill on laps 2, 6 and 8.

There are also three special Transport for London Sprints at the finish line on 2, 6 and 8.
