Tour of Britain 2008 - Stage 3

The eight stage 2008 Tour of Britain is the UK's premier road race running September 7/14 - all stages

Sadly the nearby and wonderful pier at Weston Super Mare burnt down recently and hopefully the Tour of Britain will lighten the spirits.

On route are the first real mountains and big points are on offer at the three summits in the E.ON King of the Mountains competition.

The start is in the historic market town of Chard and is only a mile from the Devon border.

The finish is at Burnham-on-Sea and features the shortest pier in the country.

At 12km climbing legs are tested for the first time at Staple Hill, then at North Molton Ridge and Cothelstone Hill.
