Stage 13 - Friday 25 May

Marzio Bruseghin (Lampre) wins the individual mountain time trial, a challenging 12.6km course. Danilo Di Luca was on a stormer, flying up the mountain, but in the end finished 8 seconds down in third. Still, he safely put away all the main GC contenders, certifying his dominance of the event so far.

    Stage 14 - Saturday 26 May

    Danilo Di Luca was made to suffer on the 192km stage into Bergamo as many riders, including previous Giro winner Gilberto Simoni, attacked. Stefano Garzelli (Acqua & Sapone-Caffè Mokambo) however took the stage victory, Di Luca losing 38 seconds.

    Stage 15 - Sunday 27 May

    Saunier Duval-Prodir's 23 year old Riccardo Riccò won the 184km stage into Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Escaping with team mate Leonardo Piepoli, the pair of Italians worked hard together to shake of their fellow breakway riders.

    In a brave attack on the GC, Eddy Mazzoleni (Astana) moved to within 1min 51sec off Di Luca's lead.

    Finishing 8th (and currently lying 5th overall), Damanio Cunego is still confident of making an impact on Di Luca's lead: “The Giro is still open, since in every stage something new happens. So, I still believe in something is right.”
