Women's Points Race

Race favourite World Champion Marianne Vos of the Netherlands was able to stamp her authority on the women's points race to claim the gold medal. Britain's Rebecca Romero played an animated role in the race and attacked a number of times and she was to finish 11th at race end.

Yoanka Gonzalez (Cuba) out sprinted the Spainard Leire Olaberria at the flag to take silver.

A crash at half distance disrupted the race and Sarah Hammer of the USA was unable retstart.
