Mark Cavendish of Team Columbia did not start stage 15 of the Tour de France.

The stage featured a number of climbs and a summit finish atop the Prato Nevoso.

Columbia team manager Bob Stapleton.said "He is clearly very tired."

Cavendish won his fourth stage of the 2008 Tour de France on Friday, a day after his third.

Prior to the start of Saturday's stage (Won by Oscar Friere) he was presented by former Pursuit World Champion Tony Doyle with a pair of special edition Nike's.
