New Ridley Dean

One key element of the Ridley Aero Project project is R-Flow technology. The new Dean and Noah feature R-Flow fork blades and seat stays with jet foils which draw air away from the spokes, and counteract turbulence generated by the wheels. This aerodynamic effect creates a vacuum resulting in a significant reduction in wheel drag.

Another proprietary technology is R-Surface. This is a patent-pending paint technology that allows the air to cling more closely to the frame; this allows it to move smoothly around the frame and release cleanly rather than detaching early and creating additional turbulence. Wind tunnel data shows R-Surface. aerodynamic paint technology to give up to a 3% reduction in drag.

Cadel Evans will be resting his yellow jersey hopes on the Dean in the all important time trials.

New Ridley Noah

The Noah has had its aerodynamics tweaked and taken from the Dean project. The weight of the high-modulus carbon frame falls to 1.1 kilograms, or 7.06kg for the complete bike.

The frame is made from 30-ton high modulus carbon fibre reinforced with 40-ton carbon. 3K multidirectional carbon finish. Introduced to the world at the 2006 Tour de France where it claimed three stages, the Green Jersey and fifth overall in GC.
